It is strange how limited one is by one’s view of the world of heat treaters. I went through many stages of this business myself, from our great and unforgettable HT-PROGRES, the first commercial heat treatment shop in Czech in Liberec at Hanychov, our child, whom we pampered, on whom we worked hard all the time with Vlaďa Procházka, in front of the French HIT and my first trainers Mr. Laurent Favarger, Jean Pierre Souchard, Djamel Benoumelaz, all the way to Bodycote with many unforgettable people. There were dozens of them, but the spirit of my president John Hubbard remained with me forever, with whom I maintain warm contacts to this day. So a long way since 1992. When I finished the path of an active “hardener” in March 2018, I planned to lie down behind the stove and rest, to devote myself to my wife, rock climbing and, above all, to my wonderful daughters. Everything was different.
My first meeting with Aleš Šlechta took place in Liberec in the Bílý mlýn restaurant and was more than nice. Thus began my journey to Galvamet, a journey into a world that was more in line with the concept of our HTPR. I tried to express many of my thoughts there, some were definitely stupid, some better, but I switched from an ocean liner to a small barge, where the helmsman is also a rower, and so perhaps I helped with my opinions and experiences. But above all, I entered a world that understands our craft not only as a way of creating assets, but as a way of living, with all the worries and joys that life in the family brings them. The Wallachians are great, and I am grateful to them for their worldview and for what they have done and will do, and above all for what they have given me. And once this lockdown ends, maybe we’ll try to finish what we started together, even though others will probably have to do the finals. So for Galvamet all thumbs up !!!
