On Saturday, January 11, Standa Dostál passed away. With him, a part of true Czech craftsmanship, golden Czech hands, for whom nothing was ever a problem, left. He was such a gray eminence of a number of heat treatment plants, but he started here, in Bodycote Liberec. And as time went on, he gradually became an indispensable helper in a number of troubles. And when he got together with Luboš Klíma, they created a tandem capable of reconstructing any furnace.
And no matter what our paths were, we always maintained respect for each other. Our friendship lasted until retirement, and so I know that in the last years he fought with an illness that he thought he would overcome. I’m sorry, Standa, you didn’t win that duel this time, but you deserve a medal for your previous victories.
And since the last thing you did for me was a pull-up bar for a pensioner’s fitness, whenever I hang myself on it, I’ll think of you too.
Dear Standa, I’m glad you were there.
