Even in calm Czech waters it sometimes gets rough. Galvamet, a commercial heat treater in Vsetín, bought the former Narex Prague and thus created a new subsidiary, Narex Metallurgy. This is a significant step forward from Aleš Šlechta, the owner of Galvamet.
For me, it is a reminder of the past, because as an employee of ZEZ Prague, VVZ Liberec, later Uniterm Liberec, I participated in the development of vacuum carburizing technology precisely for Narex Prague, already in 1989. That is, even before low pressure carburizing spread across Europe. From today’s point of view, it was an amateur job, but I still verified that it was possible. Today, after almost 35 years, ZEZ RDVA furnaces are still working, which I consider a technical miracle.
And so, I wish Galvamet, Aleš Šlechta and David Šedivý to Narex a good mind and good luck in the development of this seemingly small project. For me, the circle is closing 😊
