There are few steel producers and suppliers who maintain a portfolio of heat treatment plants certified for the heat treatment of the steel they produce. At first glance, this is logical, the material needs all the care and knowledge in the heat treatment shop to maintain its initial properties, and it is in the interest of the steelmaker that the heat treatment supplier does not destroy these properties. This is also very important because materials are developing, changing, expanding their assortment, and narrowing down the applications for which the given material is suitable.
At second glance, however, the current situation is such that only and exclusively Kind&Co clearly applies this policy on the Czech and Slovak markets. The others, if I will only talk about those listed in Nadca 207, do not apply this policy. And even when, according to my estimation, they do not process more than 20 to 30% of the steel sold in the range of steels for hot work in their heat treatment plants.
And why am I writing about it? It is again Galvamet that was audited by Kind&Co, Mr. Torsten Greeb, Director Heat Treatment & Logistics, and obtained this certificate without losing points. So, big congratulations.
This is an important award for the die-casting industry promoted by me, but it informs all toolmakers that if they buy Kind&Co steel through the JKZ dealer in Bučovice, this steel will be heat-treated in Galvamet in full accordance with Kind&Co‘s recommendations and with all the care which this steel producer requires from its approved heat treatment sources.
