Recap 2022

So, I’m starting to take inventory of last year.

I register 1538 visitors on my website, of which 592 are from the Czech Republic. But the United States is in second place, which is a big surprise for me, but also an award.

I have created a total of 134 posts. I could do more, but there is no time.

I traveled 7,167 km for work and gave lectures in Brno, Jihlava, Těšín and Rzeszów in Poland, and published a number of things simultaneously on Linkedin.

I created something like the “Dark space” of heat treatment in the Czech Republic, which is not very appreciated. The original idea was to operate this with the support of ATZK, including e-learning, but it was not accepted. The permanent conflict of interest between ATZK and Ecosond is a hindrance, making it very difficult to create something like HeatTreatToday or The Monty.

I was unexpectedly approached by the American e-magazine HeatTreatToday and the result of this process is that I am listed as a TOP heat treatment consultant. This is a great honor for me, all the more so because I am placed here among the giants of heat treatment, such as Dan Herring, known as the Heat Treat Doctor, or Doug Glenn, a well-known publisher of heat treatment in the USA. I have even already done a expertise for one customer in the USA, or offered training on the Nadca-207 to Thailand, China and Japan customers.

In addition to representing TAV Vacuum Furnaces, I accepted the offer of ECM Technologies and became their sales representative for the Czech and Slovak Republics. This is gratifying, after all I was in talks with Bodycote about buying their LPC oven back in 2003 and I still feel they are good and successful. But what inspires me about it is that I am convinced that low pressure carburizing is the way forward and ECM is the world leader in it.

And failures? There are a lot of them, but they are motivating. Also, because a number of indicated problems must be solved, whether with or without me. Whether it is the green deal and energy, with the impact on the overall concept of heat treatment, or Nadca-207 or CQI-27 and the production of die-casting dies with a guaranteed service life, or HIP and its role in AM technologies in the die casting dies manufacturing, implants or critical parts for the aerospace industry.

So basically, I am looking forward to this year and its challenges…
