The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including high-precision metallographic saws (Brillant 220, Qcut 350A), complete metallographic sample preparation equipment (Qpress 50, Qmount, Qpol 300 A1+) and Vickers, Knoop, Brinell and Rockwell hardness testers and microhardness testers (Qness 60 A+, Qness 750).
The laboratory also has analytical scanning electron microscopes, X-ray diffractometers and state-of-the-art Olympus DSX510, DSX110 and LEXT OLS5100 digital microscopes with high resolution, 3D imaging and measurement of observed samples, including complete image analysis and roughness measurement.

- Chemical composition analysis (optical emission spectroscopy, EDS microanalysis).
- Quality tests of the initial metallurgical semi-finished product.
- Control of possible confusion of construction materials, including determination of chemical composition.
- Analysis of material properties after technological processes (heat treatment, forming, etc.).
- Quality control of weld joints.
- Analysis of the causes of material breakage during processing.
- Analysis of the causes of component breakage during operation (wear).
- Complex analysis of layers and coatings (coatings prepared by heat spraying, galvanic coatings).
- Development and optimization of metallographic techniques for the preparation of specific materials for industrial laboratories.
