Getting green hydrogen from renewable energy sources. Vector illustration
An interesting article was published on HeatTreatToday, the view of two renowned people from the field of heat treatment on the use of green hydrogen for furnace heating.
From the German point of view it is a perspective, from the American point of view it is a chimera.
I don’t want to comment on it, but I already wrote about it once on my blog. Green hydrogen is tied to clean electricity, primarily from solar panels. Where the sun shines, it is a possible path, where the sun does not shine, there is no green hydrogen produced.
So it’s a chance for those who live and do business in the equatorial zone, with guaranteed sunshine. We have a small problem, we don’t live there.
I don’t want to make light of it, hydrogen can also be produced with other electrical energy, coming from fossil sources or from natural gas, from the nuclear power plant, after all, that’s how it’s done today. But it simply won’t be “green” hydrogen, but “gray” or “blue, and that’s probably not it.”
So overall I applaud Doug Glenn
