When I started the e-learning courses for heat treaters, I only had a hunch that it might be beneficial to the standard life of heat treatment operation. After all, we don’t always manage to find the right people with the right education for various positions in the heat treatment shop, and when we hire a sympathetic tailor or former waiter, we need to give him at least the minimum basics before transforming him into a vacuum oven operator, for example. And since adequate training is provided only by Ecosond for many times more money, it is quite obvious that such an investment in a tailor or a waiter, without knowing his survival time in the heat treatment plant, is a completely unreasonable expectation.
Today I can already say that it was not useless work. The only problem I have is that I just can’t keep up. My commitment to create roughly 50 basic courses is so time-consuming that it’s just slow going. If the course is to be popular – educational, it means for me to spend two months of work on each course. In addition, there is also a new requirement for courses in English. This is really beyond my scope…
Because the courses are available not only on my e-shop, there is also the option for heat treaters to install them in their own e-learning on the company’s SharePoint. Since I prepare them in Adobe Captivate, they can also be exported in SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model) format. This format is compatible with Moodle, which is widely used in our country.
In a heat treatment palnt with sufficient IT intelligence, a complete HR system can be created with education planning for each employee, with archiving of certificates and test results, monitoring of employee improvement, etc. That is, exactly everything that auditors from the automotive or aerospace industry require.
It is also strange that I have already offered participation in this project several times to the Association for Heat Treatment, or Ecosonde. Without response. I guess I have different thought processes, perhaps also because I spent 25 years as heat treater directly in practise.
Moje představa o struktuře kurzů … která se ale stále vyvíjí
