The Czechimplant conference took place in Jihlava yesterday. An interesting meeting, including about 3D printing of implants. One contribution from Prospon and Zdenek Čejka, the other from Lukáš Čapek from the Liberec Hospital. This gentleman is, among other things, the chairman of the Czech Society for 3D Printing in Medicine.
I’m a layman in medicine, but maybe that’s why my vision has been clear for a long time. I presented this already in 2021 in the form of a Center of excellence, covering all hospitals in the CZ. Unfortunately, nothing has happened to date, so even these two lectures showed the helplessness in 3D printing. It reminded me a bit of the explosion of 3D printing in the Czech automotive industry, which I wrote about in May 2022.

Basically it stays on the same plane. In order for this to work, a comprehensively equipped workplace for 3D printing must be created, including HIP and vacuum heat treatment of titanium alloys. In terms of investment, it is about CZK 100 million. If this does not happen, everything else remains in the realm of fairy tales.
But I was about to have a stroke when a representative of the Ministry of Industry appeared shortly after and declared that they were preparing the TWIST subsidy program for science and research worth CZK 5 billion. Crazy money, however, I have no idea what the research will be doing without the basic equipment for the mission objectives. No investments will be supported in the TWIST program.
So, as always, a real Czech Kocourkov (Cat kingdom)
Even so, I thank Jana Vykoukalová for trying to change
