After a long hiatus, I created a new e-learning course, LPC, for low-pressure carburizing. Not only because it is modern, but also because this technology is still shrouded in secrets kept by furnace manufacturers.
And as I found out, they only share some of it with customers. The customer then must fine-tune the rest himself, sometimes very painfully. That is why I tried to objectively evaluate the current state of knowledge about this technology and the devices on the market as much as possible. If you want to know more, there is no choice but to join the course.
In general, however, I can state that only ECM and ALD deliver truly operational and proven technology for mass production. That is also why these two companies have succeeded in the automotive industry. And it is secondary whether with quenching in a gas stream (nitrogen or helium) or in oil. Both work.
Just to illustrate. ECM has already supplied 1,800 carburizing chambers worldwide. Practically all global automakers are equipped with these devices. ALD will not be far from these numbers either. And it is also interesting that at some car manufacturers these two companies coexist. In the same hall there is one line from ALD and the other from ECM, for example at AUDI Hungary.
Since 2020 alone, ECM has delivered almost 100 installations for the automotive industry, with a total of more than 450 carburizing chambers. That speaks for itself.
So if you want to enter this world of LPC, the course is available to you.
